snap•shot
noun \ˈsnap-ˌshät\
1: a casual photograph typically taken by an amateur with a small handheld camera
2: a quick view or a small amount of information that tells you a little about what someone or something is like
Everything and everyone you see has a story – a series of events that leads them to a particular moment in time. When I stumble onto a scene that makes me wonder about those events, I take a picture – and then write a fictional narrative, in under 100 words, that attempts to explain just what, exactly, could have led to that juncture. As a concept, I call these writing/photography combos "writography." But at its core, each one is really just a snap: a quick impression in time that is over almost as soon as it began.
